2007 International Fair Trade Weeks (May 1st -15th)
The period May 1st to May 15th is internationally recognized as
Fair Trade Weeks, and May 12th is International Fair Trade Day. Events
are scheduled around the world to raise awareness of Fair Trade and
increase participation of consumers and businesses in Fair Trade programs
and practices. To obtain more information go to www.transfair.ca,

In Barrie, Ontario, the following events were scheduled.
- Saturday, May 5th, 8 am to 11am, MacLaren Art
Centre. The café at the new Barrie Art Gallery, already serves Mountain
View, Fair Trade coffee daily. On May 5th coffee was available Free,
courtesy of Mountain View and the MacLaren Art Centre from 8 am
to 11 am. The Barrie Fair Trade Working Group (BFTWG) was on hand
to answer questions and promote Fair Trade.
- Saturday, May 12th, (International Fair Trade
Day), 9 am to noon, Barrie Public Library. The Kozlov café at the
library has been serving Madison County Fair Trade coffee for over
a year. On May 12th coffee was available Free, courtesy of the library
